Kings of Sweden - and Uppsala
King Erik "the Victorious/Segersall" of Sweden (d.995) ruled
from and is buried at Gamla (Old) Uppsala.
The building of nearby Uppsala Cathedral (Domkyrka) started in
about 1272. The Cathedral was the Coronation site until the late
19th Century and is the burial site for several Kings of Sweden
- descendants - with a few exceptions - of Erik "the
Victorious", King of Sweden (d.995).
Royal Castle of Uppsala (Uppsala Slott) was built in the 16th
Century and today (2025) is used as the official residence of
the Governor of Uppsala County and also houses two museums and a
few businesses.

Olof Skötkonung, King of Sweden (d.1022) [father-in-law of Saint

King Olof Skötkonung of Sweden - and Husaby Church (Kyrka),
Sweden
King Olof Skötkonung of Sweden (d.1022) was baptized at a holy
spring by Husaby Church. King Olof and his wife - Estred of the
Obotrites - are buried beside the Church.
